SOUTH BEND - Helen F. Kalamaja, 88, passed away at 8:20 a.m. on Friday, June 26th, in the Sanctuary at St. Joseph. Survivors include a daughter, Pamela (Darrell E. Merrill) Kalamaja; and good friends, Helen Jesensky and Mary Stepien. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7th, in St. Adalbert Catholic Church, where friends may call one hour before the Mass. St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. SOUTH BEND - Helen F. Kalamaja, 88, passed away at 8:20 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2009 in the Sanctuary at St. Joseph. Helen was born on November 6, 1920, in South Bend to the late Frank and Jadwiga (Kwestorowski) Andrzejak. In 1945, in South Bend, Helen married Harry J. Kalamaja and he passed away in 1976. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Darrell E. Merrill) Kalamaja; and good friends, Helen Jes ensky and Mary Stepien. Helen was an avid gardener, gourmet cook and she loved her pets. She was a parishioner at St. Adalbert Catholic Church and was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 in St. Adalbert Catholic Church, where family and friends may gather one hour prior to the Mass. ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S.
