David William Hyink, 74, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2017 at BellTower Health and Rehabilitation Center in Mishawaka, IN. He was born on October 5, 1942 in Niles, MI, to Henry and Ruth (Abrahamsen) Hyink, both whom preceded him in death. David is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Pam Hyink; sons, Tim (Kayla) Hyink and Eli (Teresa) Miller; ten grandsons; one granddaughter; two great-grandsons; and sister, Barbara Hyink. David was employed as a cab driver. During high school, he played trombone in the Niles marching band. He enjoyed fishing and Nascar. He was an avid Notre Dame and Cubs fan. He enjoyed listening to Southern Gospel music and completing fill-in puzzles. The Hyink family would like to extend a special thank-you to Laura and the entire staff at Heartland Hospice for their excellent care and compassion during this difficult transition. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00pm on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Michiana Christian Embassy, 1922 E. Main Street, Niles, MI 49120. Pastor Jeff Whittaker will officiate. Palmer Funeral Home-Hickey Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arangements.
