Dwight W. Arndt, 60,. of 1014 N. Diamond Ave., was pronounced dead on arrival at 6:23 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Hospital of natural causes. Mr. Arndt retired as plant supervisor at Goodwill Industries of Michiana Inc. after 26 years of service. He was bom Dec. 30, 1927, in Wilders, Ind., and had lived in South Bend most of his life. On Oct 12, 1974, he married Irene M. Hansen. She died Nov. 4, 1985.He is survived by three daughters, Marcia Alexander of Granger, Cynthia Miller of Osceola and Rebecca Westman of Norfolk, Va.; two sons, Don of Marlette, Mich., and Dwight Jr. of South Bend; and 11 grandchildren. A son, Gary L., preceded him in death. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Home, where friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. He was a veteran of World War II and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 360 and Military Order of Cooties Puptent 25. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph County Heart Association.
