South Bend - Margaret Kapiszka, 91, passed away at 1:39pm on Monday, November 28, 2011 in Memorial Hospital. Margaret was born on September 20, 1920 inNoweto the late Leon and Agata (Witkowska) Volkmann. On September 25, 1946 in Eckernfoerde, Germany she married Vincent Kapiszka , he preceded her in death on July 10, 2000. She is also preceded in death by two sons, Harold and Richard Kapiszka; and by three siblings, Gertruda Meisner, Eryka Staniszewska and Paul Volkmann. She is survived by her two sons, Eugene (Judy) Kapiszka of Orlando, FL and Robert (Jacqueline) Kapiszka of South Bend; daughter-in-law, Sandi Kapiszka of Munster, IN; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and by her sister, Agnes Pietryga of South Bend.
Margaret was a mail clerk for Associates until her retirement in 1991. She was a parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Rosary Society and Harvest House. She was also a member of Haller Post. Margaret enjoyed word search and she loved gardening. Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, December 1, 2011 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30pm. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00am on Friday, December 2, 2011 in Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery
