WHITE LAKE, MI -Magdelyn M. Farkas, 72, formerly of South Bend, passed away on Wednesday Oct. 6 at 3:30 pm at her home in White Lake, Michigan. Maggie was born on March 13, 1938 in South Bend as the daughter of Stephen "Peggy" and Constance "Mamie" (Eischdadt) Lentsch. She had two sisters, Shirley Horvath and Marlene Roggeman, who both preceded her in death. As a young girl and adult, Maggie worked at the family bakery, Lentsch's on Indiana Avenue in South Bend. An avid student, she graduated from St. Joseph High School. In 1959, she graduated from Holy Cross Central School of Nursing. On August 22, 1959 in South Bend she married Frank J. Farkas Jr., who preceded her in death on Oct. 17, 1994. Their loving union produced four children: Frank J. Farkas III of White Lake, Michigan; Judith (Mark) Ribick of White Lake, Michigan; Mathew J. (Lia) Farkas of Oxford, Michigan; and James M. Farkas, who preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 2004. Maggie was a dedicated wife and mother. She encouraged her children's activities and helped at school functions. At her home, one could always find freshly baked cookies in the jar.
