SOUTH BEND - Richard L. Campoli, 88, of South Bend, died at 2:29 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. Richard was born June 26, 1926 in Mishawaka to the late Joseph and Lottie (Palicki) Campoli. Also preceding him in death was a sister, Margaret Jurgonski. On October 9, 1954 in South Bend, Richard married Angeline Wruble. She survives along with their children: Theresa (Jim) Coppens of Elkhart, Angela Compoli of Elkhart, Joseph (Kathy) Campoli of Mishawaka and Richard (Kathy) Campoli of South Bend; twelve grandchildren: Sierra Liggett, Kaitlynn, Jarred, Joel and Julia Campoli, Olivia Campoli, Brittany (Tyler) Van Arsdale, Ron (Rachel) Bacewic and Kimber Bacewic, Robyn Smeltzer, and Gina Coppens; ten great-grandchildren: Isbella, Gabriele Campoli, Eleanor Liggett, Roxleigh Bacewic, Britley, Wyatt, Sienna (Wes) Scott, Sophie, and Brennon Case; and one sister, Virginia Grzeskowiak of Mishawaka. Richard retired in 1993 after working for 28 years in machine repair at RACO. He also worked 19 years at Studebaker. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka, the Studebakers Drivers Club, DeAmici's, VFW Post 360, Mishawaka, AARP and Local 913, I.U.E. He was also a veteran of the Navy and the Army. Visitation for Richard will be held on Thursday, October 30th from 2:00 8:00 pm in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka, where a Rosary will be recited at 4:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 31st at 10:00 am in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka with the Rev. Terry Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. VFW Post 360 / American Legion Post 161 Burial Squad will conduct military rites.
