SOUTH BEND - Henrietta C. Szymanski, 82, of Niles, formerly of South Bend, passed away on Monday, March 12, at 2 a.m. in her residence in Niles. Henrietta was born on November 18, 1924, in South Bend, to the late George and Sally (Czerniak) Krakowski. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffrey Sass. She is survived by her three sons, Paul (Kathy) Szymanski of South Bend, James (Rhonda) Szymanski of Niles and David (Diane) Szymanski of South Bend; eight grandchildren, Nicole Szymanski, Stephanie Ivanjack, Jennifer Christiana, Diana Dickson, Ian Szymanski, Adrienne Szymanski, April Szymanski and Sarah Szymanski; and two great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Sass and Hannah Sass; and by her sister, Regina Pilarski. Henrietta retired in 1989 from Memorial Hospital as a supervisor, and was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 19, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 South Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 20, at 9 a.m. in St. Jude Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at Home, Inc., 4017 Chamberlain Road, Buchanan, MI 49107.
