Harold F. Van Rie
April 30, 1920 - August 25, 2003

Harold F. Van Rie, 83, of West Palm FL, formerly of Mishawaka IN, passed away at 1:31am Monday, August 25, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Harold was born on April 30, 1920, in Mishawaka, as the son of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Miller) Van Rie. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Bodle, and by a brother, Charles Van Rie. On January 21, 1941, in South Bend, he married the former Katie Anderson, who preceded him in death on September 22, 1980. On November 24, 1983, in Niles MI, he married Anna Lee Long, who also preceded him in death on July 4, 2000. Harold is survived by his two children, Pat (Nyal) Weaver of Osceola IN, and Wally (Pam) Van Rie of Goshen IN; four stepchildren, Susanne Russo of Niles, Marilyn Davis of Fort Lauderdale FL, Ken Long of Bay Island FL, and Tom (Mary) Long of Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, Sue Van Dusen, Cindy Ann Taylor, Ellyn Ward, Tony Van Rie, Anna Davis, Steve Russo, Joe Russo and Zachary Long; and by five great grandchildren. Harold was a member of K of C 1878 Mishawaka Lodge and Father Newland General Assembly of the 4th Degree, and was a member of Loyal Order of moose Palm Beach, K of C Gardens FL Lodge 2010. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
