SOUTH BEND - Edward M. Szlanfucht, 89, of South Kendall Street, died at 3:30 a.m. Sunday in Memorial Hospital. Mr. Szlanfucht retired from Allied Products and was an employee of Studebaker Corp. He was born Dec. 9, 1906, in South Bend. On Sept. 30, 1933, in South Bend, he married Mary Hans. She died Nov. 1, 1994. He is survived by a daughter, Adeline VanLaecke of Mishawaka; five grandchildren; and a brother, Mitchell Fox of Chicago. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1167. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Polish National Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Zahoran Funeral Home.
