SOUTH BEND - Lucille F. “Lucy” Lubelski, 91, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away at 1:20 p.m., Sunday, December 11, 2016, in the Golden Living Center - Mishawaka. Lucy was born on January 17, 1925, in South Bend, Indiana, to Alexander and Celia (Pitula) Rajski, and was a lifelong resident. She retired from the former Goldblatts in the Town and Country Shopping Center. Lucy had also been employed with St. Joseph Regional Medical Center for 19 years. On June 19, 1943, in South Bend, Indiana, she married Chester M. Lubelski, who preceded her in death on September 13, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Ryan Lubelski; and two sisters, Elsie and Helen Sochocki. Lucy is survived by her daughter, Susan P. (Kenneth, Sr.) Tschida of Leesburg, Virginia; three sons, James T. (Jeanne) Lubelski of Edwardsburg, Michigan, Donald F. (Joanne) Lubelski of Elkhart, Indiana, and Ernest E. (Tammy) Lubelski of Granger, Indiana; thirteen grandchildren, Christopher (Tammi) Lubleski, Rick (Connie) Lubelski, Heather (Annika Feldtmann) Schwart, Kenneth Tschida, Jr., Jacquelyn Tschida, Katherine (Michael) Stanbridge, Andy Lubelski, Kyle Lubelski, Garrett Lubelski, Branden (Alyssa) Lubelski, Brittney (Dominic) Catanzarite, Kevin Schwart, Kirsten Schwart; three great-grandchildren, Christian Tschida, Preston Stanbridge, and Corabele Stanbridge; and two great-great-grandchildren, Zoey and Aviana Catanzarite. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 17, 2016, in Holy Cross Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. A visitation will take place from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 16, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:15 p.m. Lucy was a member of St. Stanislaus Parish. She was a Notre Dame and Cubs fan. To send online condolences, please visit kaniewski.com.
