SOUTH BEND - Helen F. Serge, 78, of Riverside Drive, died on Friday at 10:35 a.m. in Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Serge was born on Feb. 24, 1918, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. On Feb. 15, 1941, in St. Adalbert's Catholic Church, as Helen F. Kominowski, she married Joseph T. Serge, who survives. She is also survived by a daughter, Mary Jane Crabill of Aurora, Ill.; three sons, Thomas E. Serge of Chapel Hill, N.C., Joseph R. Serge and John D. Serge, both of South Bend; and 10 grandchildren. Mrs. Serge was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Rosary Altar Society of the church. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., today, in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend. There will be a combined parish and rosary altar society rosary at 5 p.m., today, in the funeral home. Funeral services will take place on at 11 a.m., Monday, in Holy Cross Catholic Church. Rev. Michael Belinski, C.S.C., will officiate. Entombment will take place in Highland Cemetery.
