Laura Etta Miller, 96, of New Carlisle, passed away on Monday March 13, 2023 at Hamilton Grove, New Carlisle, Indiana. She was born on July 14, 1926, in Buchanan, MI, to the late Altis A. and Frances (Matesick) Stoner. On July 29, 1950, as Laura Etta Stoner, she married Amzie K. Miller, Jr., who preceded her in death in May of 2000. She also preceded in death by three sisters; Maxine Covert, June Gnievicki and Phyllis Roose and by two brothers, Devoe and Duane Stoner. Mrs. Miller is survived by her two daughters, Patricia (C. Kim) Sauers of LaPorte, IN and Barbara (Robert) Punter of Valparaiso, IN, by a her son, Michael Miller of New Carlisle, six grandchildren; Erin (Patrick) Spence of New Carlisle, Jeff (Susan) Punter of IL, Laura (Nathan) Doran of Valparaiso, Charlie Sauers of Rolling Prairie, Abigail and (Andrew) Dorgan of Valparaiso and by Craig (Megan) Sauers of Bangkok, Thailand; nine great-grandchildren; Nolan, Madison, Zane, Caroline, Henry, Lilah, Violet, Juliette and Liam and by two sisters, Janet Culp and Lois (Bill) Scott, both of Goshen, IN. Mrs. Miller worked as a Registered Nurse for Hamilton Grove for over 20 years. A Memorial Service for Laura will be held at 10 a.m. EST Monday March 20, 2023 at the New Carlisle Community Church, where friends may visit for one hour prior to the service.
