Obituary from the South Bend Tribune - April 11, 2000

Raymond L. Zehner, 68, beloved husband, father and grandfather of Ireland Road, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 9, in Hospice House, South Bend, Ind. Mr. Zehner was born on March 24, 1932, in Monterey, Ind., as the son of the late William and Loretta (Langabahn) Zehner. On Nov. 16, 1956, in Plymouth, Ind., he married the former Carol Sue Rowe. Mr. Zehner is survived by his wife, Carol of 43 years; two daughters, Clara (Patrick) Stalvey of Mishawaka and Judith (Michael) Molacsek of South Bend; three sons, Raymond (Deborah) Zehner, Jr., of Higley, Ariz., Ronald (Amy) Zehner of South Bend and Paul (Carol) Zehner of Moon Township, Pa.; five grandsons; and by two brothers, William Zehner of Monterey and Edward Zehner of Knox, Ind. Mr. Zehner retired from Allied Signal after 47 years on Oct. 31, 1977. He was a Korean War veteran and a member of U.A.W. Local #9. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 West 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 13, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. Robert Yast officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. Mr. Zehner's family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, Inc., 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637- 3437.
