SOUTH BEND - Theresa A. “Terri” Jozwiak, born February 10, 1921, went to her heavenly reward on June 17, 2017, at the age of 96, passing away at St. Joseph Regional Center in the embrace of her loving family. She is survived by her devoted husband of 74 years, Stanley E. Jozwiak. Together they raised four children who survive, Leonard (Elaine) Jozwiak, Theresa (Richard) Langel, Thomas (Pamela) Jozwiak and Bernard (Lois) Jozwiak. In addition she has seven (7) grandchildren, Steven (Jennifer), Matthew (Julie) and Christopher Jozwiak, Stephanie (Michael) Paduch, Catherine Langel, Kristin (John) Fishburn and Trisha Peare; she also has six (6) great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Michael and Anna Jozwiak, Joseph Paduch, Braelynn and Brock Fishburn. She was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Joseph & Helen Toth. Theresa was born in South Bend and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church since 1950. After marriage in 1943, she worked briefly as an office assistant before devoting herself as full-time mother to raise her four children, always encouraging their potential and emphasizing the importance of education and family. Later in life she worked briefly as a preschool assistant. Having a Hungarian heritage, she was always an excellent cook and prepared a variety of Hungarian and Polish dishes that always pleased Dad as well as the rest of the family. She treasured her religion and was highly devoted to the Blessed Mother and her church, attending and participating on a regular basis. She will be missed as a pillar of the family and a guiding light for all.Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Christ the King Church on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation at the church from 9:30 to 11:00, followed by entombment at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Remembrance donations may be made to Christ the King Church, 52473 US 933, South Bend, IN 46637; St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or the American Cancer Society , 130 Red Coach Drive, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
