Gloria A. Martino (Chini), 82, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021. Born and raised in Syracuse New York, Gloria was one of four children of Augusto and Rose (Checola) Chini. A graduate of Cathedral High School, Gloria then worked for the telephone company. She married Phil (Phillip) Martino (1961). Gloria and Phil were married for 48 years and raised seven children. Gloria was a retiree of St. Joseph Health System (Mishawaka) having held several positions; however, she found her greatest fulfillment in her position as manager of Volunteer Services and her work with the Sisters of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ. Alongside her work with the hospital, Gloria also was a partner in a medical claim processing company. A devout Catholic, Gloria perhaps was best known for her warm smile, open arms, and charitable disposition. She will be deeply missed by those whose lives she touched. Gloria was predeceased by her beloved husband, Phil and brother, Victor Chini. Surviving are three daughters, Jeannine Terrio (John) of Fort Myers, FL; Michele Gray of Noblesville, IN; Denise Martino of Chicago, IL; four sons, Phil Martino (Kelly) of Edwardsburg, MI; John Martino of Fort Myers, FL; Michael Martino (Jeff Elliott) of Sarasota, FL; Robert Martino (Carrie) of Osceola, IN; one brother, Joseph Chini of Saint Petersburg, FL; one sister, Dolores Bianchi of Solvay, NY; seven grandchildren, Nick (Will) and Adam Terrio; Jack (Kristin) and Meghan Gray; Kelli (Kyle) Cooper, Anthony Martino, and Catherine Johnson; 4 great-grandchildren, Hudson and Ellie Gray, Harrison and Katie Cooper; and many beloved nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at noon on Friday, November 12 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger, IN 46530. Prior to Mass, friends may call on the family for visitation from 10:00am-noon at the church on Friday. Burial will follow Mass at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, IN. Immediately (2:00pm) after burial, family and friends are cordially invited to join in a celebration of Gloria’s life at Capri Italian Restaurant, 50827 Princess Way, Granger, IN.
