Edwardsburg - Virginia (Borowski) Bazner, 98 years old of Edwardsburg, recently of Indio, CA passed to her rest Jan. 2, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born Feb. 13, 1924 in Detroit, MI, later moving to Redford Township, MI, where she and her husband, Ed raised their seven children. In the late 70's, she and Ed moved to California, where they became very active in the St. Francis of Assisi Church community in La Quinta, CA. Virginia was married November 21, 1945 to Edward A. Bazner and he passed in June , 2016. Surviving are their children; Terrance (Elaine) Bazner of Eugene, OR, Janet (Robert) Chandler of La Canada, CA, Edward C. Bazner of Hemet, CA, Kathryn (William) Lock of Edwardsburg, MI, Kevin (Dawn) Bazner of Lexington, KY and Christopher (Rebecca) Bazner of San Diego, CA. There are 12 grandchildren; Crystal, Geoff, Scott, Randy, Angelene, Todd, Matthew, Cara, Elizabeth, Sarah, David and Stephanie. She also has 13 great-grandchildren; Annika, Tripp, Waverly, Ryan, Tanner, Rhett, Kate, Hudson, Cora, Aiden, Miles, Enzo, and Clark. She was welcomed into Heaven by parents, her husband Ed, her daughter Pati, and her 12 siblings. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Mass of Christian Rites will be on Friday, Jan, 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 24832 US-12, East, Edwardsburg. Officiating will be Father Raj Nathan. Following the Mass there will be a luncheon at the Edwardsburg American Legion, 25751 US-12. A Mass will be held in her name at St. Francis of Assisi in La Quinta, CA at a later date. Inurnment will take place at Riverside National Military Cemetery in Riverside CA, beside her husband, Edward. Virginia deeply loved her family, her faith was also very important to her to her and she had a prayer list a mile long. The family has requested that Memorial Donations be made to Cass County Council on Aging "Adult Day Care", 60525 Decatur Road, Cassopolis, MI 49031. Arrangements are by the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg.
