CHARLOTTE, MI - Carl Gerald Renaldi, 37, of Charlotte, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2007, as the result of an automobile accident in Grand Rapids. He was born Nov. 2, 1969, the son of Connie and Charles Renaldi, who survive in Elkhart, Ind., along with his loving wife, Deborah Sue (Cronkright) Renaldi of Charlotte; his three children, Marissa Leah Renaldi of Mishawaka, Ind., and Kathryn Renaldi-Smith and Evan Robert Renaldi-Smith, both of Charlotte; his mother-in-law, Gail Cronkright of Charlotte Hall, Md.; two brothers, Vince Williamson (Jane) of Concord, Calif., and James Williamson of Elkhart; and his half sister, Jennifer Webb. Carl is also survived by his grandparents, Vincent Piper, and Gerald and Hazel LaCanne, all of South Bend, Ind.; his uncles, Robert Piper, also of South Bend, and Michael Piper of Lansing, Mich.; and his aunts, Sharon Darkovich of Cleveland, Ohio, and Shirley Daly of Westland, Mich. Carl graduated in 1988 from Elkhart Memorial High School. He also attended Purdue University. He was a third-degree black belt, teaching karate with Young Champions. He had a passion for serving Jesus Christ and was looking forward to graduation on May 19, 2007, from Great Lakes Christian College. Friends may call from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday in Holt Christian Church, 2424 Washington Road, Lansing, MI 48911, with an 11 a.m. memorial service to follow. A second memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday at Osolo Missionary Church, 25435 County Road, Elkhart, IN, with Pastor Brian Lutz presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Michigan Education Savings Program, Acct #1931322, for Marissa Renaldi.
