NEW CARLISLE - Margaret Horvath, 91, passed away October 14, 2016 in Hamilton Grove Nursing Facility, New Carlisle. Marge was born October 28, 1924 in Granger, Indiana to the late Edmund and Myrtle (Kowaleski) Maciejewski, Sr. On November 14, 1942, Marge married John Horvath; he preceded her in death on October 23, 2000. Margaret was also preceded in death by a brother, Edmund Maciejewski, Jr. Survivors of Marge include her children, Susan (late Dale) Updike of New Carlisle, Richard (Elizabeth) Horvath of Lakeville, and Judi Horvath of Salt Spring Island, BC; sisters, Theresa Barilich of New Carlisle and Cecilia Rowe of Mishawaka; and grandchildren, Rick Horvath of Fishers, Christine Coulter of Plymouth, and Jodie Farrell of South Bend, Bree Eagle of Salt Spring Island, BC, Patrik Updike of New Carlisle, and Maggie Updike of New Carlisle. Marge was a Realtor and a business owner. She was a very devout Catholic; Marge was a parishioner St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Rosary Sodality. She also was a member of TOPS, and the M.R. Falcons. Most of all she loved her family and friends; Marge did not know a stranger. The family wishes to thank the staff at Hamilton Grove Nursing Home for their loving care and support. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church on October 19th, 2016 at 10am. ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. is assisting the family.
