March 15, 1925 - February 3, 2022

Phyllis Sorberg, 96, passed away at home on Thursday, February 3, 2022, with her daughter by her side. Phyllis was born in Ferndale, MI on March 15, 1925, to the late Alonzo and Ardell (Burnett) Holmes. She went on to marry Bennie Sorberg, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her sons, Alan Sorberg and Phillip Sorberg, brother, Lon Holmes and sisters, Shirley Beyerle and Lois Johnson. She is survived by her loving daughter, Dr. Ellen Sorberg and beloved granddog, “Beau.” Phyllis worked for National Bank, Notre Dame Federal Credit Union and later retired from Hobby Lobby. She was an enthusiastic crafter, enjoying knitting and crocheting. Phyllis was known as the “Queen of Keflies,” and made many memories baking with her loved ones. She liked to relax and watch her favorite soap operas and Hallmark movies. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, from 11am-12pm at First United Methodist Church, 201 E 3rd St, Mishawaka, IN 46544 with the service to begin at 12pm. A private graveside service will be held in Highland Cemetery in South Bend. Donations in Phyllis Sorberg’s memory may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 201 E 3rd St, Mishawaka, IN 46544 .
