SOUTH BEND - Eugene A. Kurdys 74, of Pinellas Park, Fl, formally of South Bend, IN passed away on Sunday June 26, 2011 in St. Petersburg Florida. He was born March 7, 1937 in South Bend to Alex and Gladys (Rozewicz) Kurdys. He graduated from Central High School in 1955 and served in the United States Army from 1955-1959. On January 7, 1959 he married Jacquelline Olden who preceded him in death. In 1983 he married Valerie Gibson who also preceded him in death in 2003. Survivors include his children Dennis (Melissa) Kurdys of St. Petersburg, Fl ; James (Lisa) Kurdys of Chesterton, In and Shari Deal(Dan Szymanski) of South Bend, eleven grandchildren, Paul Kurdys, Anthony Kurdys, Karissa Jacobs, Amber Jacobs, Casey Kurdys, Tyler Deal, Mike Johnson, Jakob Kurdys, Meghan Kurdys, Abby Kurdys and Kyle Kurdys, three great grandchildren Gabriella Homberger, Jeremy Huffman and Aurelia Kurdys. Also Eugene is survived by one sister, Debbie ( Warren) Eger of South Bend, IN, one brother, Ernest Kurdys of Dowagiac, MI and family friend Jeff Mathis. He is also survived by three nieces and their families. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 11th at 10:00 at Sacred Heart Church in Pinellas Park, FL.
