Laura Ann Borsa, 87, of Edwardsburg, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Elkhart on Aug. 27, 1934, to the late Ernest Cooper and Mary Ellen (Merrill) Cooper Stanley. Laura is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Carmen Borsa; sons, Mark, Mathew (Sherry) and Dennis (Robin) Borsa; daughters, Cathleen (Dan) Locey and Julia (David) Howard; 26 grandchildren; and 39 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings and son, Christopher Borsa. Visitation will be held on Monday, Feb. 7, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart. A family graveside service will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8, at Adamsville Cemetery in Michigan with Pastor Jeremy Sarber officiating. Laura was a wonderful and loving mother who would do anything for her family. She graduated from Concord High School and soon after married the love of her life, Carmen Borsa, on Aug. 30, 1953, in San Francisco. Laura worked for several years at Miles Lab prior to retiring in 1962. She also worked for years at Edwardsburg High School as a cook in the school cafeteria. After Laura's retirement, she enjoyed being a homemaker and discovering her talents as an artist and cake baker and decorator. She will be missed greatly by her loving family and friends.
