Marguerite A. Pluta, 94, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2018. She was born on February 8, 1924 in South Bend, to the late Henry and Marie (Schutteman) Van Wynsberghe. On September 7, 1957 in St. Jude’s Catholic Church, she married Jerome Pluta, who preceded her in death on December 13, 1998. Survivors include two daughters, Corrine (Larry) Kjeldsen of Noblesville, Indiana and Celeste (Steve) Blank of Suwanee, Georgia; four grandchildren, Katie Henderson, Kristin Kjeldsen, Evan and Lily Blank; one great-grandchild, Kjeldsen Hendersen. Marguerite was also preceded in death by one brother, Leon Van Wynsberghe; and one sister, Mary Van Wynsberghe. Marguerite was very proud of her career as a Registered Nurse. She was a member of River Bend Quilt Club, St. Joseph County Home Extension, and a former volunteer at the Chapin Street Clinic. Visitation will be from 9:30 until 11:00 am on Monday, September 10, 2018 in St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Monday in the church. Private entombment will take place in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to The Center for Hospice Care or The American Cancer Society in Marguerite’s honor.
