SOUTH BEND - Martha Cudney, 68, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away at 9:43 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2015, in Grand Emerald Place of South Bend. Martha was born on September 27, 1946, in South Bend, to James G. and Cecelia (Guentert) Lowman. She had been employed as an Accounting Specialist with Wells Fargo from July 1990 2011 and H & R Block from 1998 - 2014. Survivors include two daughters, Jennifer (Steve) Schostak of Northville, Michigan, and Sara Tharp of Tampa, Florida; two sons, Robert Cudney of Tampa, Florida, and Brian (Beth) Cudney of Ballwin, Missouri; four grandchildren, Ariya Schostak, Kaya Tharp, Caroline Cudney and Joshua Cudney; her mother, Cecelia Lowman of South Bend, Indiana; four sisters, Kathleen (William) Szajko of South Bend, Indiana, Janet (Mark) Williams of Walkerton, Indiana, Elizabeth "Betty" (Dean) Woodcox of South Bend, Indiana, and Barbara (Robert) Evans of Osceola, Indiana; and one brother, Ray Mann of Indiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 10, 2015, in St. John the Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. A visitation will take place from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday in the church. A Rosary will be prayed at 9:00 a.m. Martha was a 1965 graduate of New Carlisle High School. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Parish. She had been involved in Beginning Experience where she was both an attendee and a facilitator. She volunteered at an assisted living place in St. Louis. Martha loved spending time with her family and especially loved being a grandma.
