"Constantine Lewinski, 48 years old, a well known resident of this city, died Sunday morning at his home, 1203 W. Thomas st., following an illness of one month. Death was due to complications. He had been in failing health for the past four years. "He is survived by his wife, Lottie, and eight children, Hedwige, Adolph, Sophia, Edward, Joseph, Theresa, Clara, and Albin. A father, Severyn Lewinski, and a brother, Stanislaus both living in South Bend. Mr. Lewinski was born Nov. 6, 1866, in Poland. He came to America on Feb. 7, 1881, and has lived in South Bend ever since. On Feb. 13, 1899 (sic), he was married to Miss Lottie Kluszczynska, who survives him. He had been an employee of the Oliver Chilled Plow Co. for 18 years, and 13 years of the Singer Mfg. Co.
"For the past four years, he has been employed by the "Goniec Polski" Polish Printing and Publishing Co. as an assistant editor until his health began to fail, when he retired. For several years, he had been a vice-president of the Kosciusko Building Loan Fund association. He was well known having a large circle of friends here. He was a member of St. Hedwige's Catholic church, and was an active member of St. Hedwige's society and of Polish National Alliance of America lodge No. 193. The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at St. Hedwige's Catholic church. Burial will be in Cedar Grove cemetery." His date and place of death also are given in his Indiana death certificate for which his wife, Wladyslawa Lewinski, was the informant. She reported that he had been a foreman at a printing company. It was her understanding that he had been born Nov. 6, 1865 in Indiana (sic) to Severy & Catherine Suichlinski (sp.?) Lewinski.

Refer to Wladyslawa's memorial for their shared biography.
