[N5003] Thaddeus Wilk
July 31, 1915 - Aug. 22, 2014

SOUTH BEND - Thaddeus "Ted" Wilk was born on July 31, 1915, to the late Frank and Sophia Wilk. He was preceded in death by brothers: Floyd, Stanley, Frank, Benny, Henry, Joe, Julius and Chick, and sisters: Cecilia and Bertha. Ted is survived by his sister, Virginia Mouros; several nieces and nephews; and by his adopted family, John (Jan) Luczkowski, Cindy (Thomas) Earnest and Holly (Donnie) Happ and their families. The Wilk family was filled with music, happiness, and as you can imagine, activity. At an early age, Ted discovered his love of nature and hunting. He was an expert marksman, an avid fisherman, fishing into his late 80s, and a proud member of the Michiana Steelheaders, Z.B. Falcons and Eagles. He also enjoyed, and was quite good at, bowling and softball. He was one of seven brothers who served in WW ll as a medical aide on a hospital ship in the European Theatre and one of nine brothers and two sisters who proudly worked at Studebaker's. He retired in 1977 from AM General. Ted was known for his love of anything that flew (birds and airplanes), the most delicious fish frys in town, his love of animals, his great sense of humor, and his twinkling blue eyes He touched the lives of many and made them better. He will live on in our hearts and memories and he will be missed. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 30th, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Rd. Cremation will be at Welsheimer Crematory and burial will take place at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
