Mishawaka-Ronald Stuart, 80, passed away on Tuesday, April 26 in Cardinal Nursing and Rehabilitation in South Bend.
Ronald was born on March 3, 1936 in ST. Joseph Hospital, Mishawaka to Santile L. and Anna M. (T’Kindt) Stuart. He attended St. Bavo School and Mishawaka High School, graduating in 1954. He retired from South Bend Lathe after many years of service. After retirement he was groundskeeper at Blair Hills. Ron played softball for Post 303. He was a member of the B. K. Club and shot Belgian Archery winning many trophies. He also American and Belgian Bowled. He was proud of his family. Each summer the entire family traveled and camped. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rose Marie Arata, whom he married on May 31, 1958 in ST. Joseph Church, Mishawaka. Ron was a lifetime member of St. Bavo Catholic Church. Also surviving are his children, Philip E. Stuart of Ann Arbor, MI, Paul R. (Karen) Stuart of Mishawaka, Peter (Shannon) Stuart of North Liberty, Angela (Dave) Majewski of Osceola, Zita Horvath of Mishawaka, Anthony (Tracy) Stuart of Wake Forest, NC, Kenneth (Julie) Stuart of Walkerton, Sharon E. Stuart of South Bend, Monica (Joel) Fletcher of South Bend, Regina A. Stuart of Mishawaka, Damien (Molly) Stuart of Osceola; 37 grandchildren and two step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Stephen Gerard Stuart in 1995 and granddaughter, Katelynn Rose Stuart. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 1 from 2 to 7 p.m., with Wake Prayers at 6 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, May 2 at 10 a.m. in St. Bavo Catholic Church, Mishawaka with Rev. Barry England officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
