SOUTH BEND - Betty M. Chrzan, 80, passed away surrounded by her family at 7:05 pm, Saturday, October 31, 2015 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. Betty was born May 4, 1935, in South Bend, to the late Christian and Elizabeth (Schuster) Horwarth. Betty was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Suppinger. On September 14, 1957, in South Bend, Betty married Daniel R. Chrzan who survivors along with sons, Dave (Sue) Chrzan, Tom Chrzan, and Ron Chrzan; daughter, Beth (Steve) Beam; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Kale) Teman, Daniel Chrzan, Andrea and Cameron Beam, and Rachel Chrzan; great grandson, Otto Teman. She is also survived by a brother, Herman Horwarth and sister, Teresa Golubski. Betty was very close to family; her grandchildren brought her great joy. She was elated and grateful for the opportunity to meet and know her great grandson, Otto. Videos and photos of him always brought a smile to her face. Family celebrations and gatherings were cherished times for Betty. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Shaya Mokfi and the nursing staff at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center for the excellent care they provided Betty and her family. Visitation is 4-8pm, Tuesday, November 3, 2015 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. where a Rosary will be prayed at 5pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am, Wednesday, November 4, 2015 in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Gardens Mausoleum at St. Joseph Cemetery. Chrzan 50th

SOUTH BEND -- Betty M. and Daniel R. Chrzan of Grant Road celebrated their 50th anniversary with a family dinner Sept. 15 at Reggio's, Mishawaka. Daniel Chrzan and Betty Horwarth married Sept. 14, 1957, at St. Mary Catholic Church. They have four children, David M., Thomas J. and Ronald J., all of South Bend, and Beth A. Beam of Granger. They also have five grandchildren. Mr. Chrzan retired in 1989 as a patternmaker after 32 years with the former AlliedSignal Inc. Mrs. Chrzan retired in 1992 as a line operator after 16 years with the former Miles Inc. They have lived in South Bend all of their lives.
