[N26564] James Zeinis
Aug. 3, 1927 - Dec. 4, 2020

SOUTH BEND, IN - James Zeinis, 93, of South Bend passed away at 1:45 a.m. Friday, December 4 in Heritage Point Memory Care following his battle with Alzheimer's and COVID-19. Jim was born August 3, 1927 in Lamia, Greece and moved to South Bend from Montreal, Canada. On June 4, 1961 in South Bend he married Bertha Morfettas, who preceded him in death June 14, 2011. He was also preceded in death by five brothers and a nephew, James Moskolis. He is survived by a niece, Kathy St. John of Granger; a nephew, Samuel Moskolis of South Bend; great-nieces and nephews, Alysia, Nicholas, Nathanial, and Gabriel; and many, many friends. Jim was the proud owner of the Kosher Hot Dog House for many years. He was a long time dedicated member of St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church. JIM ZEINIS WAS A GOOD MAN. If you google, What is a Good Man?, it should say, see Jim Zeinis. What does this exactly mean? Walking with your beautiful wife Bertha hand in hand for 50 years. A person who gives and gives and wants nothing in return. A person who feeds people in his restaurant who did not have money. He would say “you sit and eat”, no matter. When they were done eating, Jim would have a big bag of corned beef sandwiches with so much corned beef that the carry out lids would not close. He would feed the deer and geese in the back yard with that big smile on his face. Even they would call him Uncle Jim. A man that would do anything for his church, St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, especially at Greek Festival. The list goes on and on. What you see is what you get. A Good Man. Uncle Jim, we will miss you. The family would like to extend a huge thank you to the staff at Heritage Point for the kindness, care and respect our Uncle Jim received. Funeral services for Jim will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 11 in St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, with Father George Konstantopoulos officiating. Committal services and burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. in the church. Memorial contributions in Jim's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 50 E. 91st St. Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
