SOUTH BEND - Dorothy A. Kroll, 89, of South Bend, passed away Wednesday April 20, 2011, in Golden Living Center at Fountainview, Mishawaka. She was born on September 22, 1921, in Kemmerer, WY, to the late Herbert Clinton, Sr., "Slim" and Nellie (McRae) Dyer. She moved to the area in 1946, coming from Ogden, UT. On June 24, 1950, as Dorothy Dyer, she married Henry William Kroll, who preceded her in death on April 23, 1980. Dorothy is survived by her three daughters, Kathy (Bill) Sharpe of Elkhart, Peggy (Dan) Keller of Culver, IN and Annie (Rick) Dainelli of South Bend; her four sons, Larry (Jane) of South Bend, Tom (Sharon) of Mishawaka, Lenny (Gia) of Castle Rock, CO and Dennis (Tracy) of South Bend; 22 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sister Marilla Dyer, C.S.C. of Saint Marys, Notre Dame. She was preceded in death by her brother, Herbert Clinton Dyer, Jr., "Uncle Bud" and by a grandson, Andrew Thomas Kroll. Mrs. Kroll was a parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church, where she served as Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a former member of the Christ Child Society. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 pm Monday April 25, 2011, in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 4 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Tuesday April 26, 2011 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend.
