Rosalie Arden Dion Simeri, 82, of Avondale died May 31, 2013. Mrs. Simeri was born Jan. 8, 1931, in Los Angeles to Clytie Alice Dion and Orion L. Dion. She spent her early years in California, Hawaii and New York. In June 1948, she graduated from Rogers High School in Newport, R.I. On May 12, 1957, she married Joseph Simeri in South Bend, Ind., where they spent most of their lives before moving to Avondale in 2001. She was a homemaker and worked as a Realtor during the 1980s. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Linda Sara and Diana Bloom. She is survived by her husband, Joseph; two daughters, Shirley Schoaf and Cindy Dilla; two sons, Patrick J. Simeri and Joseph L. Simeri; one stepson, Rocco Simeri of Florida; one sister, Carol Ebert of California; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. June 21 at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road in Goodyear. Condolences can be left for the family at www.thompsonfuneralchapel.com.
