Jacqueline M. Piechowiak, 72, of South Bend, passed away on Wednesday May 10, 2017 at her daughter's home in Granger. She was born on June 1, 1944, in South Bend, to the late Harry and Eugenia (Bukowski) Moskwinski. On May 17, 1969, as Jacqueline M. Moskwinski, she married Joseph F. Piechowiak, who survives. She is also survived by her daughters, Jennifer Peterson of Granger and Jessica Piechowiak of South Bend; a son, Jacob (Sarah O'Hara) Piechowiak of Granger; two grandchildren, Abigail and Isabella Peterson; and by two brothers, Jerome (Rebecca) Moskwinski of Granger and David (Pam) Moskwinski of Detroit, MI. She was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Ann Moskwinski. Jacqueline worked as a Beautician at the Beauteria Beauty Shop in downtown South Bend. Later she worked for Walgreens in the cosmetic department on Fir Road in Granger, where she retired in 2015. Jacqueline loved sitting in the sun on her swing with a good book in hand and taking wild adventures. She was a member of ZB Falcons Nest #80.A Celebration of Her Life will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday May 15, 2017, at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a service will follow at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Foundation, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545-5234 or to the American Cancer Society, Great Lakes Division, Northwest Indiana Office, 130 Red Coach Dr., Mishawaka, IN 46545.
