SOUTH BEND - Virginia M. Buzalski, 93, of South Bend, IN, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, IN. She was born on May 27, 1920, in Cass County, Indiana, to Frank A. and Malinda (Stephens) Williams. In 1938 in Mishawaka, IN, she married Millard "Joe" Bloom, who preceded her in death on December 17, 1962, and on May 27, 1967, in South Bend, IN, she married Carol Buzalski, who preceded her in death on October 12, 1972. Mrs. Buzalski is survived by two daughters, Judith Hampton of St. Petersburg, FL, and Joyce A. Avery of Warsaw, IN; stepdaughter, Gloria Michalski of New Carlisle, IN; eight grandchildren, Claudette Hampton, Donna Metz, Jeff Hampton, David Avery, Laura Brandenburg, Derrick Avery, Deborah Avery and Michelle Shelly; twenty-four great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Virginia S. VanLake, on February 1, 2013, and by 4 brothers. Mrs. Buzalski retired as a credit manager for IMECO credit union in South Bend. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2013, in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN. Contributions in memory of Virginia M. Buzalski may be offered to the National Kidney Foundation , 5800 Fairfield Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46807.
