BRANDON, FL - Sandra Kay “Sandy” Eichorst (née Krusniak) passed away in her Brandon, FL home on March 11, 2021 at the age of 73. Born January 24, 1948 in South Bend, IN, Sandy grew up in a quaint post-WWII neighborhood filled with friends and family. Sandy's top priority was taking care of her family, and she was always working to make things better for them. Sandy had many hobbies: crocheting, spending time catching up with family and friends and her favorite, relaxing near the water on beautiful days. Sandy retired in 2019 and moved from Portage, IN to her charming apartment in Brandon, FL in June of 2020. She enjoyed various day trips with her family, and rekindled her love of cooking via Food Network. It was wonderful to see her so happy and content with her new life in Florida. Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Regina Krusniak. She is survived by her son Steven Eichorst and his wife Lisa; two grandsons, Jacob Salas and Benjamin Eichorst; granddaughter Tiara Eichorst; two great-grandsons, Jacob “Gio” Salas and Kato Salas; daughter Jennifer Eichorst; grandson Aleksandre Micic; daughter Dana Domin and her husband Thomas; her brother, Michael Krusniak and his wife Mary; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, “grandpets”, friends, and family. A private family ceremony will be held for Sandra on November 22, 2021. Published by South Bend Tribune on Mar. 21, 2021.
