SOUTH BEND - Doris H. Koloszar, 82, passed away at 7:12 pm Saturday, October 15, 2011, in the Sanctuary at St. Paul's. Doris was born February 14, 1929, in South Bend, to Edward and Lottie (Chodzinski) Banaszak. She was employed by Wilson Brothers, Ball Band, South Bend Toy, Studebaker and retired from the UAW-CIO, Region 3. Doris was a member of Our Lady of Hungary Church, was an active participant in the Home & School Association along with being a member of the Sacred Heart & Rosary Society. She actively participated in church fundraising. Doris most enjoyed holiday decorating, cooking and sewing. On October 9, 1948, in South Bend, as Doris Banaszak, she married Louis Koloszar, who survives along with two daughters, Karen (Rick) Miller of South Bend and Cindy Koloszar of Naperville, IL. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Robert Banaszak. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Wednesday, October 19, 2011, in Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 pm today in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue, where a Rosary will be recited at 4:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Hungary Church or to The Center for Hospice Care.
