Joan Planutis
June 27, 1933 - November 13, 2006

Mrs. Planutis was born June 27, 1933 in Benton Harbor the daughter of the late Harold and Irna (Schuhknect) Peapples. On August 6, 1955 she married Gerald R. Planutis. Joan earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Michigan State University. She taught school in Grand Ledge and Monroe, Michigan, and was a substitute teacher at Bridgman Public Schools for 20 years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bridgman. Joan is survived by her husband of 51 years, Gerald "Coach"; a son, John Planutis of Bridgman; a granddaughter, Emily Planutis; and a sister, Jane (Richard) Berry of Stevensville. Joan was preceded in death a brother, Jack Peapples. Services: Wednesday November 15, 2006, 6-8 PM at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel
