SOUTH BEND - Robert E. "Jinx" Jankowski, 80, passed away at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, February 8, 2012. Robert was born July 13, 1931, to the late Edwin and Valentina (Pytlewicz) Jankowski. On July 7, 1951, Robert married Stella (Wawrzyniak) Jankowski in St. Adalbert Catholic Church, who preceded him in death on January 15, 2002. Robert was also preceded in death by a son, James Jankowski. Robert is survived by grandchildren, Daniel Jankowski of South Bend and Corey Jankowski of Greenwood; a sister, Dorothy Istenes of Granger; and numerous nieces and nephews. Robert was a parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic Church, a car salesman, and sold insurance through his career. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm today, February 12, 2012, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am Monday, February 13, 2012, in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery Resurrection Gardens.
