NILES - Delores Mae (Unger) Kujawa, 82, of Niles, passed away at Memorial Hospital in South Bend on Tuesday, June 27, 2017. She was born on January 27, 1935 in South Bend to the late Fred and Mary Unger. On July 18, 1953 Delores wed the love of her life, Harry Kujawa at a ceremony at St. Mary Catholic Church in Niles. The couple enjoyed over sixty-one years together, making many wonderful memories. She was a faithful founding member of St. Mark Catholic Church. Delores was a wonderful cook and baker. She also enjoyed gardening, puzzles, playing cards and time spent with her family, especially monthly breakfast with her siblings. Delores was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry Kujawa, son, Rick E. Kujawa and siblings Fred Unger, Jim Unger, Dave Unger, Mary Criffield, Arloa Sweet, Theresa Romanski, Emma Cleland, Yvonne Garvin and Hilda Black. She is survived by a son, Allen (Cathy) Kujawa of Niles; four grandchildren, Tisha (David) Tarter of Alabama, Ricky Kujawa of Alabama, Lyndsey Kujawa of Colorado and Dillon (Macy) Kujawa of Niles; two great-grandchildren, Layla and Kathryn; siblings; Frank Unger of Buchanan, Alford (Susan) Unger of Buchanan, Bobby (Shirley) Unger of Dowagiac, William (Lisa) Unger of Georgia and Lyle Unger of Niles as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Family and friends will gather for a time of visitation on Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, July 3, 2017 at St. Mark Catholic Church in Niles at 11:00 a.m. A private interment will follow at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
