SOUTH BEND, IN - Eva M. Buday, 74 years old, passed away early Sunday morning, August 4, 2019 at her home. Eva was born on April 26, 1945 in Szil, Hungary to the late Victor and Emilia (Kovach) Szekely. On July 30, 1966 in Gyor, Hungary, Eva and Ted Buday were united in marriage. She has been a resident of South Bend since that time. Eva is survived by her husband Ted, of 53 years. She is also survived by their daughter, Marian Krizman of South Bend; grandsons, Dominic and Luke Krizman; sisters, Lidiko and Agnes; and brothers, Imre and Victor. Along with her parents, Eva was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth and Emilia; and two brothers, Laslo and Joseph. Eva retired in 2010 after 17 years in the Men's Department at Macy's. She was a gifted seamstress with a passion for life. She had a strong-spirited personality, deep faith, and a generous heart. She enjoyed traveling and living life to the fullest. The center of Eva's life was her family, especially her grandsons, Dominic and Luke. She was present at every sporting event they played to cheer them on. She will be missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 12, 2019 at the St. Matthew Cathedral. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Monday at the church. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Eva M. Buday may be donated to St. Matthew Cathedral, 1701 Miami Street, South Bend, IN 46613.
