Walkerton - Richard A. Zawacki, 81, of Union Road, Walkerton, Indiana, passed away in his home surrounded by family, of natural causes on Sunday, June 20th, 2021. He was born on January 7th, 1940 in Wabash, Indiana to Stanley and Dorothy Zawacki who both preceded him in death. On February 7th, 1975, he married Penny L. Warner, who also preceded him in death along with a son, Robert Zawacki. He is survived by his children: Sue (Dale) Kline, Elizabeth (Tom) Rich, Raymonda "Sam" (Mark) Smith, Richard (Jackie) Zawacki and Russell (Jenni Kulchar) Zawacki. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren and many, much loved, nieces and nephews. Richard was a Warehouse Manager for Waggoner Fuel until his retirement. He was also an owner & operator of a lawncare and landscape company for many years, which was his true passion. He loved gardening, being outdoors, and spending time with his family, children, and grandchildren. He also loved visiting his friends at the Boss' Place weekly. Friends are invited to share their memories with Richard's family during visitationfrom 4 to 7pm on Thursday, June 24th at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 South Mayflower Road, South Bend, Indiana. A Celebration of Life will take place at the funeral home at 7pm on Thursday. A private burial will be held at a later date.
