SOUTH BEND - Ronald Bartholomew Bailey, 76, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017 in his home surrounded by his family. Ron was born September 6, 1941 in South Bend, to the late Bernard and Eugenia (Bukowski) Bailey. Ron was also preceded in death by a brother, Paul Bailey; and step-brother, Jerry Ford. On September 22, 1962 Ron married his loving wife of 55 years, Frances (Rogers) Bailey. She survives, along with their children, Toni (Ricky) Ford, Cindy (Ray) Schaller, Tressa Bailey, Rhonda Bailey, and Phillip (Cynthia) Bailey; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; step-brother, Ricky Ford, and step-sister, Cheryl Ford. Ron proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for White Farm and Dodge until they closed then retired from Sibley. He was a parishioner of St. Casimir Catholic Church. Ron bowled for many years at William Penn Club, and enjoyed target shooting at the FOP. He was a fan of old and new style guns. Ron also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and maintaining a beautiful yard. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and many grandchildren. Visitation for Ron will be held from 3:00pm to 7:00pm Sunday, October 15, 2017 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. with a Rosary prayed at 5:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am Monday, October 16, 2017 in St. Casimir Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
