Warren E. Anglemyer

UNION, Mich -Warren Eldon Anglemyer, 87, of Union, passed to his rest Friday, Feb. 5, at Hospice House of Elkhart, after an illness. He was born May 13, 1928, in Nappanee, the son of Wilbur and Ethel (Slabaugh) Anglemyer and had lived in the Michiana area all of his life. Warren was a retired partner, with Stan Higley, of Higley Appliance in Elkhart, retiring in 1992, when other Higley family members became the owners. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Union, a founding member of the Porter Township Fire Department and Ambulance Service, having worked in both departments. He was a former member of the Porter Township Board of Trustees. He was a Life Member of the Masonic Lodge 290, F & AM, having been a Worshipful Master of the Lodge, a Thirty Second Degree Mason and a member of the Shrine and Scottish Rites. He was a life member of the OES, Chapter 235 of Vandalia, having been a past patron five times. He still enjoyed being a 'practical joker' and did that until the end. He was a graduate of New Paris High School class of 1946, and lastly worked for Employees Security as a security guard. Warren was married Nov. 28, 1946, in Foraker, to Frances Elva Wise, and she survives with their children, Ethel J. (Dave) Kaper of Constantine, Mich., Frank W. (Debra) Anglemyer of Jones and Russell J. (Lynn) Anglemyer of Union. There are 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; countless others that are called grandchildren; one godchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Joyce Kirkdorfer; a grandchild; and all of his brothers and sisters.
Family and friends may gather from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, at the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 W. Main St. (U.S. 12), Edwardsburg, Mich., where there will be a Masonic Memorial Service conducted at 7:30 p.m. by the Union Masonic Lodge 290, F & AM. The Funeral Service will at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, at his church, First Baptist Church, 15360 Mason St., Union, Mich. Officiating will be Pastor Emilio Martino. All are invited to gather at the church for one hour before the service. Interment will follow the service in Kessington Cemetery East. Memorials may be made to any charity of the donors choice. Arrangements are by the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg.
