SOUTH BEND - Gertrude Gadacz, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014 in the Signature Health Care. Gertrude was born in South Bend to the late Lottie 'Lott' and Victoria (Kaczorowski) Hazinski. Gertrude is also preceded in death by a son, Thaddeus Gadacz. Survivors of Gertrude include daughter, Mary Ann (Alexander) Vartia of Michigan City; grandchildren, Karl Vartia of La Porte, Katherine (Jeff) Szymanski of Olathe, KS., Anthony Vartia of Lawrence, KS., and Thomas (Kendra) Vartia of St. Louis, MO; four great- grandchildren; Quinn, Anna, Wyatt, and Adelle; many beloved nieces and nephews; and her special friends, Kimberly Waldock and Joseph Jarvis. Gertrude was employed with Robertson's Clothing Store where she was a seamstress. She was a parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Gertrude enjoyed sewing. Visitation for Gertrude will begin at 9:30 am on Friday November 7, 2014 in St. Patrick Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
