Obituary from p. 35 of the 6 JUN 1958 edition of the “South Bend Tribune”:

Mrs. Cassie Kloss, of Detroit, Mich., formerly of South Bend, died Wednesday in Detroit. She was born in South Bend and was the former Cassie Steszewski. Surviving is her husband, Walter. Serrvices will be held at 9 a.m. Monday in the Harris Funeral Home, Detroit. Burial will be in Detroit. She was married about 1928 to Walter A. Kloss, who was born in Austria 23 JUN 1895 & died in AUG 1979. Walter was an automotive engineer who worked for a time with the Studebaker Corp. in South Bend, Indiana. For 18 months in 1931-1932, during the era of the five-year plan, Walter & Cassie lived in the Soviet Union, where Walter was employed as an advisor in a Russian automobile plant. Upon return to the U.S., Walter gave a newspaper interview describing the deplorable conditions in Russia and stating that he would never consider returning there. Cassie & Walter had one child, a son, Richard "Dick" (1934-1950). Dick died suddenly, at age 16, while playing basketball at Wayne University in Detroit. I have been unable to find any burial information on Walter or Richard, hence no FAG memorials have been established for them.
