SOUTH BEND - Kathryn T. Bykowski, 95, passed away Tuesday in Sanctuary at St. Joseph. She is survived by her son, Joseph Bykowski of South Bend; four grandchildren, Dennis (Jerrilyn) Bykowski, Paul (Debbie) Bykowski, Kathryn (Scott) Scoville and John (Nancy) Bykowski; and by her brother, Alec Tomaszewski. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 pm Thursday, July 15, in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday in St. Adalbert Catholic Church.

SOUTH BEND - Kathryn T. Bykowski, 95, passed away at 12:04 a.m. on Tuesday, July 13, 2010, in the Sanctuary at St. Joseph. Kathryn was born on July 4, 1915, in South Bend, to the late Alphonse and Christine (Kolteniewicz) Tomaszewski. On December 31, 1932, she married Joseph Bykowski, who preceded her in death in 1985. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Rosemarie Buszkiewicz; three brothers, James Tomaszewski, John Tomaszewski and Nick Tomaszewski; and by her three sisters, Stella Tomaszewski, Molly Kozakiewicz and Sue Griffin. She is survived by her son, Joseph Bykowski of South Bend; four grandchildren, Dennis (Jerrilyn) Bykowski of Woodridge, IL, Paul (Debbie) Bykowski of New Palestine, IN, Kathryn (Scott) Scoville of Indianapolis and John (Nancy) Bykowski of Indianapolis; and by her brother, Alec Tomaszewski. Kathryn was a printer for the South Bend Tribune for 25 years before retiring in 1985. She was a parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, July 15, 2010, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, condolences for the family may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637. For those who are unable to attend the funeral Mass, condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
