Proposed Change: Marianna Andrysiak (I03772)
Tree: The Piechorowski Family
My husband's great grandmother was Mary Andrysiak. She married Martin Stelmaszewski and they lived in both Grand Rapids, Mi and Toledo, Ohio. I think that they married after coming to America. She died in Toledo, Ohio (if you look at the records on the new Mormon site - rch.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=0) Her death certificate says she was born - 04 Dec 1868. She died on 09 Sep 1949. Her mother is listed as Antonina Pierschalska and her father is Rasimir.
I think she had at least two daughters - Helen and Angelina - my husband's grandmother. Helen married James Ignatius Brezinski and Angelina married John Krajewski who was the son of John Krajewski and Margaret Walkowiak. This was all in Toledo. Helen and Angelina were born in Grand Rapids.
Mary and Martin took in two little girls from the Andrysiak side - Irene and Wanda Janas (you can see them with them in 1920) Their mother was Josephine Andrysiak - Josephine herself was living with the family of Cassimer Andrysiak (age 66)and Antonina (age 60) in Grand Rapids Ward 8, Kent, Michigan in the 1900 census. I think that based on family stories, these might have been their grand children or they were aunt/uncle but maybe not. I can check with another relative.
I also found this information on the Poznan Project:
Catholic parish in Kcynia [Exin], entry # 27 in 1858 score: Groom: 84%
Casimirus Andryciak (24) father: Jacobus Andrysiak, mother: Marianna
Antonina Pierschalska (19) father: Matthias Pierchalski, mother: Veronica
Then there are the Casimir and Antonia in the 1900
census in Grand Rapids. I can't find Martin and Mary
Stelmaszewski at that point but Casimir is living on
Chatham Street in Grand Rapids then. In the 1888-90
Grand Rapids directory, Martin is living on Chatham.
ALso on Chatham in Grand Rapids in 1900 is Valentine
Andrysiak and wife Agnes. All emigrated in 1881. It
says that Casimir and Antonia have been married for 41
years had had 2 children - both living. There are two
children living with them - if they are their
children, they were married for 20 years without
having children.
