From the SOUTH BEND TRIBUNE, February 3, 1967, page 8:

Services for Walter Lepkowski, 81, formerly of 811 Napier St., who was pronounced dead on arrival at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Borgess Hospital, Kalamazoo, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church. Rev. Sigmund A. Jankowski, C.S.C., pastor of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Mr. Lepkowski's brother-in-law, will officiate. Mr. Lepkowski had resided with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Wood, 3816 Borgess Dr., Kalamazoo, for the last three months. He was born on March 31, 1885, in Grajewo, Poland. He was a retired Studebaker Corp. employee. His wife, Mary, died last Oct 9.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Sobecki of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Irene Anderson of Springboro, Ohio, Mrs. Helen O'Parker of Detroit and Mrs. Wood; two stepdaughters,, Mrs. Ruth Kubiak and Mrs. Sophie Kazmierczak, both of South Bend; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mr. Lepkowski was a member of Group 79, St. Vincent de Paul Polish Roman Catholic Union.
