NILES - Helen Groszek, 85, of Niles, Michigan, passed away on May 24, 2016, in Hospice House in South Bend, Indiana. Funeral services will be Friday at 9:30 at St. Mark's Catholic Church, with Father King officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are by Hoven Funeral Home. Contact Hoven for more information. Helen Groszek (Rzeszut) was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Frank and Harriet Rzeszut on August 20, 1930. She graduated from Coloma High School. She married Henry Groszek on September 16, 1950, in Coloma, Michigan. She was an active member of St. Mark's Parish in Niles, Michigan, for over 60 years. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many and will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, her daughter, Anne, her parents, and four of her brothers, Henry, Stan, Ed and Ted. Helen is survived by her brother, Frank; sister-in-law, Delores (Ed); and three sons: Thom Groszek (Birt), Chuck Groszek, and Mark Groszek (Nancy); and one daughter, Christina Svoboda (Joe). She also had 7 grandchildren: Bryan Zwar, Samantha Groszek, Natasha Kim, Aaron Svoboda, Mimi Svoboda, Jacob Groszek and Stan Groszek. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Center for Hospice Care and St. Mark's Parish. Published in South Bend Tribune on May 26, 2016
