Naperville, IL - Martha N. "Marty" Veevaete (nee Daugherty), age 82, a resident of Naperville, IL since 1975, formerly of Muncie, IN, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017 at her home. She was born October 31, 1934 in Muncie, IN.

Beloved wife of sixty years to James L. "Jim" Veevaete of Naperville, loving mother of Lisa Veevaete Cottone of Atlanta, GA, adored grandmother of Anthony Cottone of Greensburg, IN, devoted daughter of the late C. Wynn and Sara Daugherty, dear twin sister of Mona (Larry) Campbell of Bloomington, IN and dear sister of Wynara Sleziak of Evansville, IN, fond aunt, great-aunt and friend of many. Marty will be missed by her Pomeranian/Chihuahua, Roxy.
Marty grew up in Muncie and attended Burris High School (Class of 1952). She received undergraduate and master's degrees in education from Ball State University in Muncie and was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. Marty loved children and they loved her in the classes she taught. A terrific teacher, Marty taught in Elkhart, Mishawaka and Muncie, IN and in Royal Oak and St. Joseph, MI. Her moves were frequent due to her husband's job with General Motors. Marty will be remembered as a caring person who was known for calling and praying for family, neighbors, and friends that were ill. She also was known for her thoughtful cards sent for birthdays, anniversaries and many other events. Memorial visitation Wednesday, August 2, 2017, 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, IL. A celebration of Marty's life will be held Thursday, August 3, 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
