SOUTH BEND - Josephine M. Egyhazi, 91, passed away at 11:45 a.m. Friday, January 28, 2011, in the Sanctuary at Holy Cross, South Bend. She was born on February 7, 1919, in Herrin, IL, to Joseph and Gina (Calcaterra) Oldani, and had moved to South Bend, coming from Herrin. On June 28, 1947, she married Joseph Egyhazi in Holy Cross Catholic Church, South Bend. Josephine is survived by her loving husband of nearly 64 years, Joseph Egyhazi; daughter and son-in-law, Carole and Greg Coffin of South Bend; two grandchildren, Joshua Coffin of Durango, CO, and Gina (Eric) Coffin Smith; and great-grandson, Andrew Smith of Auburn, AL. Two sisters, Mary Adams and Jenny Barni, and three brothers, James Oldani, Ambrose Oldani and her twin, Guido Oldani, all preceded her in death. Josephine was employed at the University of Notre Dame in the Student Accounts Office for 23 years, retiring in 1982. She enjoyed playing Bridge, was a member of the Ladies of the Moose and of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, January 31, 2011, in Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, where friends may visit with the family from 10:30 a.m. until time of services. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Mausoleum, Osceola, IN. Contributions in memory of Josephine Egyhazi may be made to Pet Refuge, 2300 W. 6th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
