Alan Ray Foresman, 78 years old, passed away at 9:21 a.m. on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at the Center for Hospice, Mishawaka. Mr. Foresman was born on March 16, 1943 in LaPorte, IN to the late Edward and Mamie (Keck) Foresman. He has been a lifelong resident of North Liberty. On February 2, 1979 in South Bend, Alan and Diane Pinkowski were united in marriage. Along with his loving wife, Diane, of 42 years, survivors include his three sons, Lonny (Edie) Foresman of North Liberty, Danny (Shelly) Foresman of Mill Creek, and Wayne (Amy) Foresman of North Liberty; five grandchildren, Jessica (Travis) Kraemer, Amanda (Andrew) Finn, Matthew Foresman, Joshua Foresman, and Emma Foresman; and eight great grandchildren, Nevaeh Finn, Coen Kraemer, Kaidan Schafer, Hunter Schafer, Amelia Kraemer, Andrew Finn, Jr., Conor Kraemer, and Katehlea Finn. Alan is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Mark O’Connor of North Liberty; and sister-in-law, Pat Foresman of North Liberty. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Foresman. Mr. Foresman formerly worked for Silo Manufacturing in North Liberty for many years. He worked in excavation work with Dean Ross, worked at Modern Door and for Culligan. He retired from Potato Creek State Park in grounds maintenance. Mr. Foresman proudly served his country with the United States Army and he was a member of the VFW Post 1954 in North Liberty. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at the Palmer Funeral Home, within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville. Military graveside services and burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, North Liberty. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Alan R. Foresman may be donated to Center for Hospice, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545 or to VFW Post 1954, 66992 Tamarack Road, North Liberty, IN 46554.
